Your Host Family and/or volunteers will meet you at the airport. Please note that you may have connecting flights either in the USA or prior to entry to the USA before you land in your local airport. Please familiarize yourself with your travel plan and ask any questions you may have about how to navigate your connections to your AFS partner in your home country.
BEFORE your date of travel. Please also note that, upon arrival to your local airport in the USA you may travel a distance by car to your host community. Your AFS office will provide you with more details before you leave for the U.S.
Private and Boarding School participants may have different U.S. arrival dates. If so, you may arrive in the U.S. earlier than other AFS exchange students and you will be notified prior to your departure who will meet you at the airport. All private and boarding school students are expected to participate in orientations. Learn more about AFS-USA Orientations and what to expect.
